Salt Of The Earth N°3

Big Sur, California - Which we recently sailed past and then turned around and visited by land.

Big Sur, California - Which we recently sailed past and then turned around and visited by land.

I now live in Mexico, where November is balmy warm and the water is clear as glass. We’ll only be here a few months, so I’m making the most of it, like always. Here are things that are inspiring me to keep creating this week, plus a few things I created!

I haven’t pulled out my camera in Mexico, so the photos accompanying this post are from a visit to Big Sur, California a few weeks ago. If you go, visit McWay Falls, one of several freshwater waterfalls in California that fall onto the beach, at first light to avoid the crowds!

  • This little brass tea strainer is one of my favorite things I use daily.

  • This album I found while WWOOFing in Ireland awoke in me a love of music.

  • This guide to roasting pumpkin seeds. Everything is worth so much more to me now that we’ve sailed out of America and into Mexico where healthy food is less available. I felt a deep appreciation for the seeds of some squash we were having for dinner underway offshore and roasted the seeds. They were delicious and nibbled up within the hour.

  • This little piece I wrote about my plan, and plans in general.

  • This chaga mushroom dyed long-sleeve tee.

  • A little poem I wrote in the pre-dawn hours at sea.
